Amplivox Portable Sound Systems

0

June 14, 2012, infocomm, Las Vegas—We talked with Amplivox about their new product lineup for this year. The new products include lecterns and podiums, high-tech public safety sound systems, and audio products to enhance multi-media presentations. The company's focus is on portable sound enhancement systems for places like hotels, schools, and churches.

First, they introduced a number of new lecterns and podiums. Some of the introductions are just different appearances of the basic units—acrylic, Euro contemporary, hard shell plastic, and one family with an integrated 17 inch LCD screen on the panel facing the audience. Second, public safety products include a combination radio and loudspeaker station, and a combination emergency strobe, Siren, whistle, talk and record playback megaphone.

And finally the multimedia line. These products include a line array speaker--that is designed for use with whiteboards and flat-panel screens, and fits into a 2U slot, wireless multimedia amplifiers, portable PAs, and powered stereo PC speakers. The portable systems can be configured to handle up to four wireless microphones and six external wireless speakers. All of the equipment can be operated from internal batteries or from the power line.

One additional accessory is an iPod adapter that separates the USB and audio signals to allow simultaneous charging and hi-fi audio connection to the sound system. This adapter connects to any Apple mobile device through the Apple connector and reduces challenges of running out of battery in the middle of a presentation.

The company has been active in supporting breast cancer organizations with their "Pink Podium Promise" donation program and is now launching a companion program to provide free pink megaphones to breast cancer organizations. The pink power megaphone is based on the company's all-weather, portable, 10 W sound systems.
