It allows the users to use features from OS X like dictation and gestures in Windows applications. The environment supports full multi-media capability of the Mac such as gaming, music, movies using the Retina display, Surround Sound 7.1 and 3D graphics rendering. In addition to Windows 8, other OSes can also be run in Desktop 10 including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 98, Linux, and Google Chrome OS.
The new version features real-time virtual disk optimization to automatically compact the virtual disk while the tasks are running; Mac native “Save as” mode in Microsoft Office 2013 applications to Dropbox, Google Drive, and iCloud Drive so they appear as Mac files even when working on the Windows tools; the Windows 8.1 start screen works like the OS X Launchpad, and when Windows applications are in installed they are automatically added to the Launchpad.
