April 10, 2011, NAB, Las Vegas—Panasonic reported that the recent earthquake affected some component supplies leading to a short term reduction in revenue. The P2 cards and tape are ok. They are working to become the number 1 green company by 2018, with the goal of recycling 16 percent of their materials within the company and to recycle 99 percent of all consumable materials used in their factories.

NFL films is moving to HD gear and all file-based flows, MLB teams including the Oakland As and Baltimore Orioles, and MLS Kansas City are equipping with Panasonic equipment.

NCAA teams, including Duke, Clemson, SMU, University of Georgia, Notre Dame, and Florida State are looking to use the cameras and recorders for coaching analysis and other functions. The London Olympics are making Panasonic the official cameras and recorders for filming and video at that event. NASA will be using the equipment for testing and training on the Atlantis mission and will be using 2D and 3D equipment to document activities on the International Space Station. The overall theme for the company is extending performance for the real world.
