June 11, 2013, E3, Los Angeles—Away from the big AAA games and consoles, a couple of early stage game platforms and hardware components showed up. Although the components seem interesting, the business models and use cases are not clear.
UNU offers a new android-based tablet that includes a wireless air mouse for controls, mouse functions, and an integrated keyboard, as well as a separate game controller. The prototype devices are meant to be connected to a large-screen display, although game play is possible on the tablet. The tablet interfaces through the MHL standard protocol and also works with WiFi A, B, G, and N. For sound, the user can connect separate headphones to the tablet or listen through the TV.
