Moshi Electronics Accessories for the Holidays
November 2015 – Moshi has been known for quality smart phone and mobile electronics for several years. This year they are leading off with new products for the iPhone6 and 6S. To address real world lifestyles, they have also created a shoulder bag that is designed to carry up to a 15” ultrabook/tablet, a DSLR camera and an additional electronic device while still operating as a purse.

On the iPhone 6 & 6S products, in addition to the traditional protective and decorative cases for the phone, they have added a new two piece product to the offering. Called the iGlaze Ion, it is a protective case which has a second piece that is a high capacity battery that can be connected to the phone over the protective case without cables. Most power solutions today are in the form of a powerbrick of some size that is connected to a smart phone with a cable. This is both clumsy to have three pieces (a phone, power brick and cable) but leaves the phone uncomfortable to use while charging. The 2 piece design leaves the phone as a standard phone for regular use, but when extra power (about 2,750 mAh of power to approx double the battery life of a typical iPhone6 and Intelligent power management circuitry supports 2.1 A fast charging to is needed for something like extended video capture or playback, the extra battery can be slid on and off. The battery unit locks with a convenient button located at the bottom of the unit. The design is such that the headphone connections, lightning connection are both accessible, as is the camera so full functionality is available in extra power/charging mode.
To go along with the new battery case they introduced the Rewind. This compact wall power unit has a folding wall plug for easy carrying and dual USB ports. The unit puts out a total of 10W of power, so it can fast charge one device or standard charge two devices. The unit has a design that allows for the charging cable to be stored with it by having a “wrap” channel design around the front. This allows the cables to be plugged into the USB ports and then unwound to connect to the devices being charged.

Joining the iPhone accessories is the new Aerio bag. Designed for 15” ultrabooks/tablets/laptops, the bag features a unique “shock absorbing” strap to reduce the effective weight of the bag on your shoulder when it is carried. The bag comes in two colors – Black and Grey. Designed for the content creation community, it not only holds the computer, but also has a full sized DSLR pouch, a place for power cords and a second pouch that can nominally be used for additional lenses or a MiFi box. The bag also features real world features such as a place for cell phones, headsets, wallets, etc. To insure the contents stays in place, the top cover is connected with parachute clips that allows for quick secure access. For managing the heavy contents, the bag has strong stitching and sturdy materials. It is a great bag for on location image capture, editing and posting from just one bag.
