Monster retro logo and new partners
January 2014 – At CES in Las Vegas, Monster had a number of surprises at their press conference this year. The first was the relaunch of their original retro-logo for Monster Cable for cable products. The retro logo is being accompanied by retro styled cables with the classic Monster connectors that were introduced with those products in the 1980s. With this 35 yr history and background in audio, they launched a number of new headset products and partners for mobile sound.
The lead of the mobile sound area was the association with Lamborgini. They announced they were the audio system provider for the new Veneno roadster. This limited edition vehicle has a custom speaker system, amplifiers and audio wiring designed by Monster for the high power Monster sound. The announcement was followed by the car being displayed.
The continuation of the theme of “pure monster sound” in the audio legacy is the headphone line. The started off with the DNA line of on-ear headphones, and the new DNA Pro headphones. The Pro’s are a wireless model with auto on/off capability for ease of use and smart phone like swipe controls. On the cabled side, they released the NPulse Pro. This non-DJ headset is targeted to the prosumer level listener, rather than the DJ audience, and features high efficiency speakers in a passive sound reduction over-the-ear design. The DNA line is available in new colors, as is the handheld DJ console that was released in 2013. The DJ console is available in a number of new personalized colors bringing a new mobile DJ experience to the market.
In this new partnering and lifestyle direction – Nick Cannon introduced the new SKAM DJ headset line and also broke the news on the reality series about head monster Noel Lee and a new series, being produced by Monster, with a DJ competition.
This headset technology brought new partnerships and new products lines from the associations announced with Adidas, UFC (the Octagon line), World Poker Tour with an exclusive headset series to be used by players, and a “size matters” direction that was announced by Shaq.
The product announcements were for headphones that will all be available in 2014. The 35th anniversary of Monster was celebrated at their annual awards evening that featured Fleetwood Mac on the last night of their current world tour.
