Canare Cable – professional cables now available in US
January 2013 – Since the 1970’s, the Canare Company has dominated the Japanese professional and live venue market with over 80% market saturation for cabling. Their products for both copper and optical cables and associated connectors & accessories (tooling, repair, etc) have been the staples of the industry. The group has now opened a direct sales office for North America that is located in NJ. The company with the expansion is still very engineering intensive with over 20% of the firm involved with development and support of their products. The NJ office has both sales and support personnel for the clients here.
The products are targeted to the conditions of studios, and live performance venues & events. As an example, their staging cables have two woven sleeves rather than a foil shield for high reliability and enhanced flexibility of the resulting cable. For these specialty cables including AV Combo snake cables, multi-video break out cables and hybrid fibre optic camera cables, they also have thier own line of high reliability connectors and panel connectors. To live venue assistance, they also make custom and standard reels for transport and deployment of the cabling systems.

All of the cables and connectors have Canare tools that support them. The stripper tools use a combo die that supports multiple wiretypes and BNC, F and RCA connectors in the same die. This simplifies the tools needed to just 2 the stripper and the crimp tool. For the optical connections (up through 3GHz video applications) there is a similar assembly tool. The optical cables are currently single mode fiber only and are targeted for camera connection applications.
