ChyronHego at NAB 2013
April 7, 2013, National Association of Broadcasters, las Vegas—We talked with Chyron-Hego about their various products. Their products are integrated across all platforms and allow xross discipline edit, render, etc. for graphics.
The advent of blade servers and cloud services facilitates image analysis and production. All of their products are based upon their Lyric system for a graphics workflow. The various systems can output standard formats for production and some of the tools add sales and management functions as well as search engines into the basic operations.
The telestration system adds image tracking and can fix to a surface. The ability to manipulate images from a 4k base to other formats also allows for virtual pan and zoom functions. They recently joined forces with Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC) to develop an intelligent robotic camera solution for its industry-leading TRACAB player tracking technology. Combining real-time motion capture with real-time motion, data are fed into the MRMC robotic camera heads allowing broadcast cameras to be used to create high-quality sports productions without the need for an operator or cameraman.
They launched CAMIO-DR, a data recovery system designed for the CAMIO3 graphics asset management server. The system will allow broadcasters to protect valuable graphics assets against potential hardware failures and achieve a smooth on-air recovery. CAMIO-DR can be remotely located for various disaster recovery scenarios. The system performs regularly scheduled backups of the primary CAMIO’s assets and databases, and the syncing process can be performed in the background during normal CAMIO operation.
Next, the Graffiti SDI, a 1-RU system fully loaded with the Lyric PRO graphics creation software, and Graffiti SDI Flex, a portable backpack-ready character generator boasting all the features of Graffiti SDI. Graffiti will integrate into existing workflows which combines advanced graphics creation, collaboration, management, and playout systems.
Graffiti SDI and Graffiti SDI Flex are user selectable from SD to 1080i video standards.
Mosaic is a 1080p-capable broadcast graphics platform for use in traditional or automated production workflows. Mosaic fits easily within existing workflows or ChyronHego’s BlueNet solution. In a compact 2-RU chassis, Mosaic features SSD storage and redundant power supplies. This platform delivers creation-to-playout capability, real-time 2D/3D animation, an optional onboard DVE, video and audio mixers, and supports a variety of native clip formats and standards, including SD, HD and 1080p.
