Jane’s Zoo – Game Review

April 5, 2011 – Livermore, CA – We recently had a chance to review the new time managment game on the iphone/ipod touch platform from G5 Entertainment – Jane’s Zoo. This multi-level single person game is one of the new additions to their gaming line of object search & time management titles.

The game is pretty straight forward – Jane and her helper have to take care of the animals and the grounds at the zoo. The game prompts you as to the tasks at hand, and the options to select from are clearly displayed across the bottom center of the screen. The selection area does a nice job of highlighting the selection you are on when you choose objects or tasks. The early levels of the game are easy, as one would expect, and the complexity and number of tasks increases with level.

The game has a number of interesting details and graphics – the animals are quite animated, and even though a number of tasks are repetitive (e.g. feeding the animals), with the backgrounds and characters the game remains engaging. It is a good commute time game, as it has short predictable time levels, and stops an restarts in a well behaved manner. If you are a passenger on a bus/train or a car, it is a good multi-trip game that can be completed in several commute time sessions.
