Snell Intros Broadcast Hardware and Software
April 15, 2012, NAB, Las Vegas—Snell announced a number of new software and hardware packages for broadcasters. First, Momentum is a software tool for media asset management, workflow automation, and resource planning. The software has a unified interface across all users and departments. The software includes analytics to provide a picture of operations and real-time what-if simulations.
For automated play out, the ICE channel in a box and Morpheus automation system includes a wide range of new tools to streamline workflows. The system is scalable from one to more than 100 broadcast channels through a single user interface. A new content validation feature analyzes source material upon ingest to prevent invalid formats with impaired content from going on air. An optional SAN storage can be added to the system. In addition, the Morpheus software includes new second screen capabilities.
KudosPro is an image processing platform that handles and converts a wide range of video and audio formats. The product family includes options for single, dual, quad channel formats and frame rate converters. Additional functions include relay bypass, HD and my monitoring, closed-captioned timecode management and AFD support.
The company’s Kahuna 360 Compact video switcher now comes in a 6-RU chassis. It maintains the original interface and can handle up to three full mix/effects as well as seven keyers per mix effect. Other technology enables multiple independent sub-level switchers new technology can handle mixed ST, HD, and 1080P inputs and can provide multiple format outputs simultaneously.
Finally, they unveiled a new 4-RU Vega routing platform. Users can configure any port for fiber or coax connections and also can choose any port to be either input or output.
